Back from a great weekend in Groningen, Netherlands, where we attended the Night of the Sick festival. A rather small festival - four bands, low budgets etc, but with great atmosphere, great fun and not the least - an amazing audience! The festival takes place at the old roman catholic hospital in Groningen (thus the fitting name), a place occupied and turned into a huge squat, and seething with creativity from every corner!

Arriving rather late on friday nigh, our host and arranger of the festival, Mira, took us directly to the local metal pub De Ster in downtown Groningen. Great place, and we quickly made friends with the locals.

The festival itself took place on saturday, a bit lower turnout than the arranger had forecast, but the atmosphere was soaring from the very start. All three bands that played before us did a great job, and together made up a wide showcase of metal. Great stageshows, especially the slaughtering of the pig by Chainsaw, and also Goddess of Desires version of the Venom classic "Teachers Pet" with a stripper on stage. I think it is safe to say we had the most extreme musical expression of the night, something which seemed to fit the audience. Towards the end it took off completely with stagediving, and pretty much the entire area in front of the stage turned into a raging moshpit. Fucking awesome!

It has definitely been a memorable weekend for us, leaving us really thirsty for more european gigs soon! A big thank you to Mira for arranging a great festival, and her first class hospitality! And of course to everybody that showed up, all the new friends we've made and everyone that made this into a true night of the sick!

Quite a lot has been going on in the Imbalance camp this fall. We've been touring a bit in Norway, doing gigs in Trondheim, Bergen, Sandnes and Oslo. We've been playing with bands like Keep of Kalessin, Max Midsun, Profania, No Dawn and Sarpedon. All great bands from the Norwegian metal scene.

In addition we have been working hard with creating new material, and will be doing a pre preproduction of new and old tracks for an upcoming full length album, early January 2007. So far we're very happy with the new material. Definitely Imbalance, but at the same time more varied, more technical and more sinister.

The live situation for the spring is already taking shape. Al lot is still uncertain, but we will definitely appear at the Night of the Sick festival in Groningen, Netherlands (March 31st). In that connection we hope to get some more gigs in Germany or Netherlands. Please get in touch if you know a place, or have a band that wants to do a gig in that area in the time between March 27th and April 3rd.

Imbalance and Max Midsun will support Keep of Kalessin for their scheduled norwegian mini tour. The tour wil stop at the following locations:

• Thursday October 19th: Hulen, Bergen
• Friday October 20th: Tribute, Sandnes
• Saturday October 21st: Garage, Oslo

Keep of Kalessin has toured greater parts of europe this past year, both with Carpathian Forest and Satyricon. They are known for their ferrocious and technically brilliant live shows. Their latest studiorelease, Armada has received great acclaim from a unanimous metal press.

Imbalance is an up and coming thrash metal band from Oslo, Norway. They have release four demos (two by their previous name, Frost). They opened this years Inferno festival, and has received great reviews from their live shows.

Max Midsun delivers a frantic and groovy stoner rock. Their debut album "Max the 1st" will hit the streets at October 30th.

The new MCD "Bestial by Nature" was released in time for the Inferno festival. Featuring three tracks of furious thrash metal, Imbalance style, clocking in at just above eight minutes total running time. Read more here . Downloads will be available shortly.

Finally it is official! Imbalance will be playing at this years mighty Inferno Festival, and has got the honorable task of opening the show! More info and playing times at the festival web-site!

We're currently working in our own studio recording a followup to the "Burial by Consciousness" MCD. We're working towards a new MCD, which most likely will be named "Bestial by Nature", and will feature three tracks of sophisticated yet brutal thrash metal, Imbalance-style. Expect the disc to be ready for release on the Inferno Festival in April this year!

08.06.2005 Imbalance confirmed at Motstøyfestivalen

Imbalance will play at Motstøyfestivalen in Notodden, Norway. Motstøyfestivalen is a metal and prog festival that runs september 2nd and 2rd 2005. The festival is an alcohol and drug free event and features bands such as Pain of salvation (SE), The cumshots (NO), Thulsa Doom (NO) Mnemic (DK), Noxagt (NO), Griffin (NO), and many more. Imbalance will represent the Demo-scene along with Genetic, YTO, The eleventh hour, Chaos and 66Crusher.

14.10.2004 Imbalance to participate in Metaldetektor contest

Imbalance will take part in this falls contest for unsigned metal bands - Metaldetektor - hosted by the TV show Blender. We hope that everyone is armed with their little mobile phones and thumbs ready to send in SMS-messages to vote for Imbalance. The winner of the contest will receive a record deal with the label Voices of Wonder.

10.07.2004 Welle leaves for school in Australia

Our drummer, Welle, has been accepted at an Australian university for the coming fall and spring, and has thus disbanded the Imbalance crew (temporarily, we hope). We are in the process of estabilishing a relationship with a session drummer that can assume Welles position in live situations during this time. More news will be posted as things progress.

Imbalance's latest demo, «Burial of Consciousness» has been added to the playlist at the internet metal radio ChroniXAgression.com. The radio is available both as 64kbps and 128kbps mp3 streams.

03.06.2004 Imbalance to appear on High Voltage metal radio

Imbalane will be interviewed by High Voltage metal radio in Oslo, Sunday 06.06.2004. The interview will be aired sometime between 21:00 and 23:00. High Voltage broadcasts in Oslo, but you can also listen on the Internet. See their webpages for details.

03.06.2004 Gig at Hamar cancelled!

Due to Grotta being double booked for the night, the gig with Cynicon has been cancelled. We hope to find a new venue or get the gig on track again at some later time.

30.05.2004 Imbalance confirmed at Drammen and Hamar.

Two new gigs have been confirmed, June 23rd at Riggen in Drammen, with Diskord and June 25th at Grotta, Hamar, width Cynicon.

25.04.2004 First live appearance with new lineup

Imbalance played live for the first time with their new lineup at Dattera til Hagen in Oslo, Norway. The concert was helt together with two other local bands, Imago and Decaying Womb.
